Big Cats
Lions, tigers and snow leopards in wide, naturalistic enclosures.
The Big Cats habitat sits at the top of the park, built around deep grass banks, climbing logs and shaded dens so the animals can behave much as they would in the wild. From the raised walkway you look down into the lion territory, then follow the boardwalk past the tigers' pool to the snow leopard ridge. Keepers are stationed here through the day to answer questions and talk through each animal's story, from how they came to us to what they eat and how we care for them.
What you'll see
- A pride of African lions with a raised viewing walkway
- Two Amur tigers with a pool they use on warm days
- A pair of snow leopards on the rocky ridge habitat
- Daily keeper talk and afternoon feed
Good to know
- The afternoon feed is the best time to see the cats moving around.
- The walkway is step-free and pushchair friendly.
Questions about big cats
What time is the big cat feed?
The keeper talk and feed run every afternoon. Check the board at the entrance on the day for the exact time, as it moves with the season.
Can I see the cats up close?
You view the cats from the walkway and boardwalk. For a closer, keeper-led experience, book one of our Animal Encounters.
