Tropical Aviary
Walk through free-flying parrots, finches and our resident toucans.
The Tropical Aviary is a large heated dome you walk right into, so the birds fly freely around and above you. Inside are scarlet and blue-and-gold macaws, a cloud of tropical finches, a pair of toco toucans and several smaller parrots. The planting is dense and green, with a small waterfall and pool at the centre. Keepers run a short flight talk each day and can tell you which birds to look for and where they like to perch.

Will the birds land on me?
They might perch nearby, but please do not touch or try to hold them. Let them come and go as they choose.
Is the aviary pushchair friendly?
Yes, the main path through the dome is step-free and wide enough for pushchairs.
